8 Quick Tips to Building a Successful Internet Business:

Tip 1: Identify Your Target Niche

Don’t try to sell to everybody because you will literally come across as a jack of all trades and master of none. Making money online starts with positioning yourself as an expert in you field and that’s starts with defining a specific niche market with pains and challenges that you not only understand, but that you can also confidently help them overcome with you knowledge.

Here’s a tip within a tip…Don’t just pick what you like…Pick a niche that has demand and is also currently spending good money out there on products or services similar to yours. It helps to like what you are doing for sure, but you mustn’t lose sight of the fast that you are in this to make money, so don’t sell to people who aren’t ever likely to buy.

Tip 2: Give ‘em lots of value for FREE!

Successful internet marketing is all about building relationships with the people that you come into contact with and leaving a good first impressions ‘as it were’.

One great way to get these people to know, like and trust you is by giving away lots of premium quality content so they begin to get curios about how good your paid content would be and what it will do for them.

Tip 3: Give them what they want not what they need…

Buying is based on emotion…People will almost always buy what they want but not necessarily what they need. So it’s really important to make sure that your product or service is aimed at satisfying the wants of your niche market rather than just the needs.

Better still, if you can come up with a solution that solves the wants and the needs of your market then BOOM!

You have yourself a winner!

Tips 4: Drive targeted traffic to your offer

You won’t sell a light until you get some eyeballs to your offer, but you know that right?

The bad news is that you need to learn how to get some decent levels of targeted traffic to your offer pages.

The good news is… it isn’t as hard as some of the gurus out there would have you believe…

However all traffic is not created equal and I do favour paid traffic over free traffic because I believe that paid traffic is almost always of a better quality and leads to more optins which builds a healthy list and ultimately far more sales. There is a way to get paid traffic for free though and that is by using a ‘funded proposal’ approach to your marketing. I will explain in detail how to do this in a separate video.

Tip 5: Make sure you capture their details & follow up

Everyone who every visits one of your websites is a potential customer for you, perhaps not now but at some time in the future. So make sure that you capture their details on your optin page and follow up with an autoresponder sequence that continues to give them quality content and nurtures them into a future buyer.

I would suggest pre-populating your autoresponder with at least 5 initial follow up messages spread out at 4 day intervals, with the first going out as soon as the prospect opts in to your list.

http://www.aweber.com is a great place to start for a really good autoresponder system and they offer a $1 trial.

Tip 6: Work the 80/20 rule

Avoid getting sucked into time wasting activities such as constantly checking emails or messing about on Facebook or Twitter.

Remember the Pareto rule of 80/20?

Make sure that a full 80% of your time is spent on money making activities within your business and make sure that you work fast. The internet moves fast and you need to do the smae to not only keep up but also to get ahead!

Tip 7: Treat it as a business!

Making good money online is perfectly possible and so many people enjoy the benefits of having a successful internet marketing business but all of these successes have one major thing in common, and that is they all treat it just like a real business and not like a hobby.

Make no mistake, making money online is a real business and should be treated as such. Once you adopt this mindset you will see your success multiply tenfold!

Tip 8: Take action and keep taking action!

Success online and offline both come down to taking action. A lack of action will always lead to a lack of success and a lot of action will almost always lead to massive success.

The key is to keep on keeping on even when it gets tough.

Just keep the faith in your business and yourself and you will inevitably turn the corner and claim everything that you desire and deserve for yourself!
